Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Smith & Wesson Model K-38 Target Masterpiece Revolver, also known as the Model 14, is a double-action revolver with adjustable open sights built on the medium-size "K" frame. It is chambered for the .38 Special cartridge and most commonly comes with a 6 in or 8 3⁄8 in barrel. However, a small number were produced with 4 in barrels and even fewer with 5 in barrels. This revolver was first manufactured in 1947 under the name K-38 Target Masterpiece. Still, in 1957, the Model 14 was renamed, and Smith & Wesson started giving numerical model numbers to all their revolvers. It is constructed on the same medium-sized frame (K-frame) as the iconic Smith & Wesson Model 10 ("Military and Police") revolver.
