*SOLD* Unknown Custom Replica of M1867 Russian Krnka 30" *BLACK POWDER CONVERSION*
Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The M1867 Russian Krnka was a breech-loading conversion of the muzzle-loading Model 1857 Six Line rifle-musket, designed by Austro-Hungarian arms maker Sylvester Krnka and adopted by the Russian Empire in 1869. Similar to contemporary conversions like the Snider-Enfield and Tabatiere, the Krnka was produced at the Tula armory (TOZ) in two main versions: infantry and cavalry rifles. Although it replaced the older Inkerman Model 1828 rifle, the M1867 itself was soon supplanted by the more advanced Berdan rifle, with both weapons seeing service simultaneously for a period. Issued to conscripts and police in Central Asian territories, such as Samarkand, the Krnka rifles were eventually retired and repurposed as affordable smoothbore hunting shotguns, extending their utility beyond military use.
