*SOLD* Unknown Custom Replica of M1867 Russian Krnka 30" *BLACK POWDER CONVERSION*

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:

The M1867 Russian Krnka was a breech-loading conversion of the muzzle-loading Model 1857 Six Line rifle-musket, designed by Austro-Hungarian arms maker Sylvester Krnka and adopted by the Russian Empire in 1869. Similar to contemporary conversions like the Snider-Enfield and Tabatiere, the Krnka was produced at the Tula armory (TOZ) in two main versions: infantry and cavalry rifles. Although it replaced the older Inkerman Model 1828 rifle, the M1867 itself was soon supplanted by the more advanced Berdan rifle, with both weapons seeing service simultaneously for a period. Issued to conscripts and police in Central Asian territories, such as Samarkand, the Krnka rifles were eventually retired and repurposed as affordable smoothbore hunting shotguns, extending their utility beyond military use.

This custom replica of the M1867 Russian Krnka is a single-shot, breech-loading rifle designed to resemble the historic firearm, though it lacks any visible manufacturer markings or serial number, which makes tracing its origin difficult. The rifle features a blue finish with a brass receiver, lending it a classic aesthetic. The barrel measures 30 inches with an octagonal profile, offering a distinctive look and improved accuracy. The sights include a dovetail globe with a post front and a mounted tang peep sight, allowing for precise aiming. The stock is made from checkered walnut with a straight grip and a smooth forearm, providing both functionality and comfort. Given that the caliber is unknown, it's recommended that a qualified gunsmith inspect the bore to determine its size before use. The action operates via a side-hinged lifting breech, typical of the M1867, adding a historic touch to its design.
