The Century Arms C93 Sporter is a semi-automatic rifle assembled and imported by Century Arms as a civilian sporting variant patterned after the famous HK33 / HK93 family, offering shooters an affordable entry into the roller-delayed blowback rifle platform chambered in 5.56×45mm NATO / .223 Remington. Built largely from surplus components combined with newly manufactured receivers and compliance parts, the C93 Sporter uses the distinctive roller-delayed operating system originally developed by Heckler & Koch, in which bolt head rollers mechanically delay rearward movement during firing, allowing reliable operation without a conventional gas system. This design contributes to a strong reputation for durability and a unique recoil impulse characterized by a sharp but controllable push. Most examples feature stamped-steel receivers, hooded front sights, rotary drum rear sights, paddle-style or push-button magazine-release configurations, depending on build specifics, and polymer or fixed-stock furniture modeled after military HK-pattern rifles. Barrel lengths are typically around 16 inches to comply with civilian regulations, and the rifle feeds from detachable box magazines compatible with HK93-pattern magazines. 
 
One of the platform’s strengths is its robust construction and ability to function under adverse conditions with relatively simple maintenance, while the fluted chamber aids extraction during the violent cycling process. In practical use, the C93 Sporter appealed to enthusiasts who wanted the look and feel of the classic HK93 system at a lower price than original imports.
