The Charter Arms Explorer II is a distinctive blowback-operated, semi-automatic .22 Long Rifle pistol introduced in the early 1980s as the handgun counterpart to the Charter Arms AR-7 survival rifle. Inspired by the appearance of the famous Mauser C96 "Broomhandle," the Explorer II features a lightweight aluminum receiver, detachable box magazine, interchangeable AR-7-based internal components, and was commonly offered with 6-, 8-, or 10-inch barrels.
