The Colt 1911 WWI Meuse-Argonne Offensive Commemorative is a limited-edition .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol produced by Colt's Manufacturing Company to honor the American Expeditionary Forces’ involvement in one of the most significant battles of World War I. Part of Colt’s World War I commemorative series, this pistol was designed to closely replicate the original Model 1911 pattern used by U.S. troops during the war rather than the later 1911A1 configuration. It features classic WWI-era details such as a flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop, original-style controls, traditional checkered walnut grips, and a 5-inch barrel chambered in .45 ACP. The Meuse-Argonne model commemorates the Meuse-Argonne Offensive of 1918, the largest American offensive of World War I, where U.S. forces played a major role in the final push against German forces. These pistols were produced as collector pieces while preserving the historical appearance and mechanical characteristics of the original service pistols carried by American soldiers.
