Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
First introduced in the 1990s as a factory custom refinement of Colt's iconic Series 80 1911 line, the "Enhanced" model series incorporated modern ergonomic upgrades directly from the factory floor. Built with an undercut trigger guard for a higher grip purchase, flared ejection port, skeletal Commander hammer, three-hole adjustable target trigger, and an extended duckbill beavertail grip safety, the Enhanced variation provides superior recoil control and match-grade handling. The Combat Commander combines a full-sized Government frame with a maneuverable 4.25-inch barrel, yielding a classic combination of 8-round capacity and fast-handling carry dimensions.
This specific example is an authentic 2006-manufactured Colt MK IV Series 80 Combat Commander Enhanced bearing serial number FC28034E. Chambered in .45 ACP with a 4.25-inch stainless barrel, it features a full satin matte stainless steel finish, dovetailed 3-dot combat sights, factory relief-cut frame, and double-diamond checkered rosewood grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions. The package includes a complete Colt literature group with the Series 80 owner's manual, Colt Companion booklet, warranty card, and caution inserts. An exceptional piece for Colt 1911 collectors, Series 80 purists, and fine stainless handgun enthusiasts.
