The Colt Defender Lightweight is a compact 1911-style semi-automatic pistol specifically engineered for concealed carry, combining the classic operating characteristics of the Government Model with reduced dimensions and lightweight construction for improved everyday portability. Manufactured by Colt's Manufacturing Company, the Defender Lightweight was designed as one of Colt’s smallest production 1911 variants, typically chambered in .45 ACP, though later models were also offered in 9mm.
