The Colt Lightweight Government Model is a full-size 1911-pattern semi-automatic pistol that combines the classic design and shootability of the M1911 pistol with a reduced-weight frame, making it a practical option for those who want a duty-sized handgun that is easier to carry. Manufactured by Colt's Manufacturing Company, the Lightweight Government Model retains the standard 5-inch barrel and full-length slide of the traditional Government Model, preserving its excellent sight radius, reliability, and accuracy.
