The Dan Wesson Pointman Seven PM7-45 is a highly refined full-size 1911 pistol that has earned an outstanding reputation among serious shooters and 1911 enthusiasts for its exceptional craftsmanship, match-grade accuracy, and blend of classic target-pistol features with modern semi-custom quality. Manufactured by Dan Wesson Firearms under the CZ-USA umbrella, the PM7-45 represents one of the flagship models in the company’s respected Pointman series and is widely regarded as one of the finest production 1911 pistols available short of full custom-shop guns. Chambered in .45 ACP, the PM7-45 follows the traditional Government Model format with a 5-inch barrel and all-steel construction, but elevates the platform through extensive hand fitting, premium components, and precision machining, giving the pistol a notably tighter, smoother feel than many standard factory 1911s. One of the defining characteristics of the PM7-45 is its forged stainless-steel frame and slide combined with a match-grade barrel and bushing system designed for excellent mechanical accuracy. The pistol features classic target-oriented styling, including a serrated rib along the top of the slide, a BoMar-style adjustable rear sight, a blacked-out target front sight, forward cocking serrations, and beautifully finished brushed stainless flats contrasted against bead-blasted rounded surfaces. The PM7-45 also incorporates numerous premium 1911 enhancements, including an extended beavertail grip safety, a skeletonized hammer and trigger, a lowered and flared ejection port, a full-length guide rod, a checkered mainspring housing, and finely fitted internal components sourced from respected aftermarket manufacturers.
