The DoubleTap Defense DoubleTap is one of the most unconventional modern concealed-carry handguns, a minimalist two-shot pistol designed with extreme simplicity, compactness, and deep concealability as its primary goals. Developed by designer Ray Kohout and marketed by DoubleTap Defense LLC beginning in the early 2010s, the DoubleTap is essentially a modern reinterpretation of the classic derringer, but executed with contemporary materials and engineering.
