The SAR-8 is a highly regarded variant of the legendary Heckler & Koch HK91 manufactured in Greece by the Hellenic Arms Industry (EBO) using original tooling acquired directly from Heckler & Koch. Imported into the United States by Springfield Armory, these Greek-produced rifles closely mirrored the German HK91 in both appearance and function, offering the same roller-delayed blowback operating system and military-style construction that made the platform famous worldwide. Early EBO-imported examples are especially desirable among collectors and enthusiasts due to their pre-ban status and reputation for high-quality manufacturing, making the SAR-8 one of the most sought-after HK-pattern rifles imported into the American market.
