The FN Five-seveN is a full-size, semi-automatic pistol developed by FN Herstal and introduced in 1998 as the companion sidearm to the FN P90 Personal Defense Weapon, both designed around the 5.7×28mm cartridge. It operates using a delayed-blowback system with an internal hammer, allowing the pistol to safely handle the high-pressure bottleneck cartridge while maintaining low recoil and reliable operation.
