The Freedom Arms Model 97 Premier Grade is a finely built single-action revolver that represents Freedom Arms’ effort to offer the same precision, strength, and fit associated with the larger Model 83 in a slightly smaller and more packable frame. Introduced in 1997, the Model 97 was designed as a high-quality field, hunting, and sporting revolver, offering excellent balance while retaining Freedom Arms’ reputation for tight tolerances, crisp lockup, and outstanding accuracy. The Premier Grade designation placed it at the top of the standard Model 97 line, typically featuring a finely polished stainless finish, premium fit and finish, and the refined mechanical quality that made Freedom Arms one of the most respected American revolver makers. Compared to mass-produced single-action revolvers, the Model 97 was built in much smaller numbers and with far greater attention to detail, making early Premier Grade examples especially appealing to collectors and serious shooters who appreciate custom-quality American revolver craftsmanship.
