The GSG-5 is a semi-automatic rimfire rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle, manufactured by German Sport Guns GmbH, an air-soft and firearms company based in Ense-Höingen, Germany. It was introduced to the public at the IWA & Outdoor Classics trade show in March 2007, following changes in German law that permitted previously restricted military-style firearms. Designed to resemble the iconic Heckler & Koch MP5 submachine gun, the GSG-5 offers enthusiasts a rimfire alternative with a similar look and feel. German Sport Guns also produces a variety of compatible accessories, including retractable stocks, railed hand-guards, and other tactical upgrades. In addition, many air-soft MP5-style accessories are also compatible with the GSG-5, enhancing its customizability. Magazine options range from 10-round, 15-round, and 22-round capacities, all the way up to a 110-round drum magazine. The rifle features an adjustable H&K-style drum rear sight, allowing for windage corrections.
