The Glock 17 Gen 2 is an early iteration of the Glock 17 that played a pivotal role in bringing polymer-framed, striker-fired pistols into widespread professional and civilian use, building on the revolutionary design introduced by Glock Ges.m.b.H. in the 1980s.
