Vickers is a highly respected firearms instructor, military veteran, and small-arms historian best known for his service with U.S. Army 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment–Delta, commonly known as Delta Force. After retiring from military service, Vickers became one of the most influential tactical firearms trainers in the United States, founding Vickers Tactical and helping develop or consult on numerous modern firearms and accessories for companies such as Heckler & Koch, Wilson Combat, Glock, and TangoDown. He is especially well known within the shooting community for his extensive knowledge of military small arms, combat pistol and carbine training, and his role in the development and testing of advanced firearms including the HK416 and modernized 1911 platforms. The Vickers Tactical edition was created to incorporate practical enhancements rather than cosmetic changes, often including factory-installed upgraded sights, extended controls, improved magazine components, and specially selected accessories based on Vickers’ extensive training and combat experience.
