The Glock 17L Gen2 is one of the most sought-after long-slide pistols produced by Glock, combining the proven reliability of the Glock 17 with enhanced accuracy and a longer sight radius for competition and precision shooting. Introduced during the Second Generation of Glock pistols in the late 1980s, the 17L features an extended 6.02-inch barrel and matching long slide, making it noticeably longer than the standard Glock 17. Chambered in 9mm Luger, it utilizes Glock's striker-fired Safe Action system and a 17-round magazine, while the lightweight polymer frame, Tenifer-treated steel slide, and polygonal rifling contribute to its legendary durability and corrosion resistance. Second Generation examples are distinguished by their smooth grip texture with checkering and serrations on the front and back straps, lacking the finger grooves and accessory rail introduced on later models. The extended barrel and sight radius provide improved muzzle velocity and exceptional accuracy, making the Glock 17L a favorite among competitive shooters.
