The Glock 19X is a crossover-style semi-automatic pistol that combines the compact slide assembly of the Glock 19 with the full-size frame of the Glock 17, creating a unique hybrid handgun designed to offer the balance, magazine capacity, and shootability of a duty pistol with the slightly shorter upper assembly preferred for faster handling and carry versatility. Manufactured by Glock Ges.m.b.H., the 19X was originally developed from Glock’s submission for the U.S. Army Modular Handgun System trials, where the company sought to produce a combat-oriented sidearm capable of meeting modern military requirements. Although the military contract ultimately went to another manufacturer, Glock released the design commercially in 2018, and it quickly became one of the company’s most popular and recognizable models.
