Produced by Glock Ges.m.b.H., the Model 36 was introduced in the late 1990s and built on a slightly reduced frame compared to the larger Glock 21, emphasizing a narrower grip that is more comfortable for shooters with smaller hands or those seeking easier concealment. The Gen 3 version incorporates the characteristic finger grooves and accessory rail found on third-generation Glock frames, along with the brand’s signature polymer construction paired with a steel slide and internal components for durability and reduced weight. Chambered in .45 ACP, the Glock 36 uses a single-stack magazine that typically holds six rounds, which contributes to its slim profile while still providing the cartridge's stopping power.
