Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The H&R Sportsman (often seen as Model 999 Sportsman) is a .22 LR double-action/single-action revolver made by Harrington & Richardson (H&R), produced from the early 1930s through the 1980s, and later briefly continued under successor companies using the same design lineage. It is one of H&R’s most recognizable revolvers and represents their “premium” .22 target/plinking line. The Sportsman is a top-break revolver, meaning the frame hinges open downward to expose the cylinder, and when opened it automatically ejects spent casings, making reloads extremely fast compared to most fixed-frame revolvers of its era. It typically features a 9-shot cylinder, 4”, 6”, or 6½” barrel options, adjustable rear sights on later models, and a blued steel finish with wood or hard rubber grips depending on production year. Early examples were more basic, while later production versions (especially postwar and 1960s–70s) became more refined with improved sights and finishes.
Return Policy:
We gladly offer a 3-day unfired inspection policy from the time that the firearm is delivered to your FFL. Refunds are available for all qualifying orders.
