The Harrington & Richardson Government Carbine (HR51655140082) brings another blast from the past in this lightweight retro-style rifle, weighing just 6 pounds and measuring 30 1/2" with the stock collapsed and roughly 33 3/4" with the stock extended. Built for historical clone builds, it features a forged 7075-T6 aluminum M16A2 upper receiver with a fixed carry handle, M4 feed ramps, and a matching M4 barrel extension, paired with an authentic H&R "Special Forces COTS" profile M16A2 lower receiver. The front end utilizes a 14.7-inch, chrome-lined, Parkerized 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium pencil-profile barrel with a 1:7" twist rate and 1/2"x28 threads. To maintain a compact footprint while satisfying federal regulations, an A2-style muzzle device is permanently pinned and welded to achieve a legal 16-inch overall barrel length. This slim-contour configuration shifts the weapon's balance rearward for fast handling, and it features a carbine-length gas system, a diameter at the gas block of .625", and a gas block type featuring a rifle-height front sight base. Finally, the exterior is outfitted with a standard 6-hole carbine handguard, an A2-style pistol grip, and a CAR-style stock on a 6-position mil-spec buffer tube, while the interior functions on a full-auto profile bolt carrier group, a Carpenter 158 steel bolt, and a standard mil-spec trigger group.
