The JLD Enterprises PTR-91 is an American-made semi-automatic rifle patterned after the famous Heckler & Koch G3 battle rifle, combining the rugged roller-delayed blowback operating system of the original German design with domestically manufactured components and a civilian-legal configuration. Originally produced by JLD Enterprises before the company later evolved into PTR Industries, the PTR-91 was chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO / .308 Winchester and quickly gained a reputation for durability, reliability, and strong long-range performance. The rifle was built using tooling originally acquired from the Portuguese FMP G3 production line, allowing many early PTR-91 rifles to closely replicate authentic military-spec G3 construction and dimensions.
