The Kimber Tactical Pro II is a premium Commander-size 1911-pattern pistol built on an aluminum frame with a 4-inch match-grade, bushingless bull barrel, offering a balance between full-size shootability and reduced carry weight. Chambered primarily in .45 ACP (with later 9mm variants), it operates using the classic short-recoil, single-action, locked-breech system designed by John Browning. The pistol features a match-grade trigger, beavertail grip safety with memory bump, ambidextrous thumb safety, skeletonized hammer and aluminum trigger, 30-lines-per-inch frontstrap checkering, and an extended, beveled magazine well to improve handling and reload speed. Factory equipment includes Meprolight three-dot tritium night sights, a KimPro II corrosion-resistant finish on the frame and slide, and black-and-gray G10 or laminated grip panels depending on production year. Weighing approximately 28–29 ounces unloaded, the Tactical Pro II was designed to combine custom-grade 1911 features with a lightweight carry platform suitable for defensive, duty, and competition use. Produced from the early 2000s until roughly the mid-2010s, it became one of Kimber's flagship Pro-size tactical models.
