The Lorcin L380 is a compact, semi-automatic pistol chambered in .380 ACP that was manufactured by Lorcin Engineering Company in California during the late 1980s and 1990s. Designed as an affordable personal-defense handgun, the L380 features a simple blowback-operated action, a steel barrel, and a frame and slide made primarily from zinc alloy (Zamak), helping to keep production costs low. The pistol uses a detachable seven-round magazine and has fixed iron sights with a manual thumb safety. While its low purchase price made it popular among budget-conscious buyers, the L380 developed a mixed reputation due to concerns about durability, reliability, and overall build quality compared with higher-end handguns of the same era.
