Produced at the historic New Haven, Connecticut plant prior to the Gun Control Act of 1968, the Marlin Model 81-DL was the DeLuxe variant of Marlin's highly successful tubular-fed rimfire bolt-action line. Capable of seamlessly cycling .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 Long Rifle ammunition through its high-capacity under-barrel magazine, the Model 81-DL earned a legendary reputation for exceptional field accuracy and rock-solid reliability. The "DL" designation signifies Marlin's deluxe treatment, featuring a contoured walnut stock, refined trigger, and receiver tapped for period target aperture or optical sights.

This exact rifle was manufactured pre-1968 in New Haven, Connecticut. Chambered in .22 S-L-LR, it features a 24-inch blued steel barrel, full-length tubular magazine, smooth American walnut stock with fluted comb, and an authentic vintage period-correct Weaver B4 3/4-inch scope made in El Paso, Texas mounted via side receiver optics bracket. Exhibiting very good original condition throughout with deep bluing coverage, warm walnut grain, a bright clear bore, and smooth cycling action, this pre-68 Marlin Model 81-DL with Weaver B4 scope is an outstanding addition for vintage rimfire collectors, plinkers, or C&R firearms purists.
