The MAS Modèle 1936 is a French bolt-action military rifle chambered in 7.5×54mm French, designed by Manufacture d'Armes de Saint-Étienne (MAS) and adopted by the French Army in 1936. Featuring a 5-round internal magazine loaded with stripper clips, a robust rear-locking bolt, integral cruciform spike bayonet stored beneath the barrel, and rugged aperture sights, the MAS-36 was engineered for simplicity, reliability, and durability under combat conditions.
