The Pietta 1862 Army Police is a modern reproduction of one of Samuel Colt’s most elegant and historically significant percussion revolvers from the American Civil War era. Manufactured by the Italian firearms company F.lli Pietta, this black powder, single-action revolver captures the appearance and handling characteristics of the original Colt Model 1862 Police while offering modern machining and materials for collectors, reenactors, and black powder shooting enthusiasts. The original 1862 Police was chambered in .36 caliber and featured a compact frame with a distinctive rebated cylinder design, making it lighter and easier to carry than larger military revolvers of the period.
