The F.LLI Pietta / Mitchell Mauser PPS50/22 is a blowback-operated, semi-automatic rimfire carbine cosmetically styled as a dedicated visual homage to the historic Soviet PPSh-41 submachine gun of World War II. Its unmistakable military silhouette is defined by a 16.1-inch, 4140 blued steel barrel with a 5-groove, 1:16" twist rate, completely encased within a full-length, perforated blued steel ventilation shroud that is manufactured as an integral part of its one-piece stamped steel receiver. This unified tubular receiver structure extends from the rear tail cap to the muzzle, featuring an integrated 11mm grooved dovetail for immediate optic mounting. Mechanically, the rifle fires from a closed-bolt position using dual recoil springs, pairing a notch rear sight with a fixed blade front post for intuitive target acquisition. For weapon security, a manual trigger-block safety lever is located directly on the right side of the receiver body, positioned perfectly above the trigger assembly alongside a magazine-release lever that protrudes through the front of the trigger guard. Completing this iconic rimfire plinker is a smoothly finished hardwood stock with a contoured semi-pistol grip and integrated sling swivel studs, giving the 4-pound, 12-ounce weapon a balanced feel and a total overall length of 33.5 inches.
