The Remington Model 700 VS SF-P, standing for Varmint Synthetic Stainless Fluted/Ported, is a scarce and highly desirable variation of Remington’s 700 Varmint Synthetic line. This model combined a stainless heavy varmint barrel, synthetic stock, fluted barrel profile, and factory porting, giving it a very distinctive configuration compared to the standard 700 VS or 700 VS SF rifles. The ported version was only offered for a short two-year production window in 1998 and 1999, making it much harder to find than the more common non-ported variants. For Remington collectors, that limited production span gives the VS SF-P added appeal, especially when found in original condition, as it represents one of the more specialized late-1990s Model 700 varmint rifles built for precision shooting with upgraded stainless, fluted, and ported features.
