The Remington Model 12 is a classic American pump-action .22 rimfire rifle that was manufactured by Remington Arms from 1909 to 1936. Designed by the renowned firearm inventor John Pedersen, the Model 12 was one of the most successful slide-action rimfire rifles ever produced, with well over 800,000 examples made during its production run. Chambered in various rimfire cartridges depending on the specific variant—including .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 Long Rifle—the rifle feeds from a tubular magazine located beneath the barrel and uses a smooth pump-action mechanism that quickly earned a reputation for reliability and accuracy. Built with a solid steel receiver, walnut stock, and quality machining typical of early 20th-century American firearms, the Model 12 was marketed as a hunting, target, and small-game rifle and became a common sight on farms and in shooting galleries across the country.
