Built around forged 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum upper and lower receivers, it features a 16-inch chrome-lined barrel with a versatile 1:7 twist rate, a carbine-length gas system, and a factory-installed Magpul MOE furniture package—including a drop-in hand-guard, pistol grip, and 6-position collapsible stock. Distinct from standard AR-15 platforms, the M400 lower receiver incorporates an integrated ambidextrous quick-detach (QD) sling attachment socket at the rear along with an internal tensioning pin to eliminate receiver play for a rock-solid feel. Topped with a fixed A2 front sight gas block post and a full-length Flattop Picatinny rail, this platform combines classic carbine functionality with SIG Sauer's signature precision engineering.
