The Sig Sauer P225 is a classic compact semi-automatic pistol that earned an enduring reputation for excellent ergonomics, mechanical reliability, and refined all-metal construction, making it one of the most respected single-stack service pistols of its era. Developed during the mid-1970s as a more compact derivative of the larger P220 series, the P225 was designed to meet West German police requirements and was widely adopted in police service under the designation P6.
