Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Originally engineered for the U.S. Military XM9 Handgun Trials in the early 1980s, the SIG Sauer P226 achieved legendary global status when it was selected for service by the U.S. Navy SEALs and elite law enforcement units worldwide. Among collectors and purists, original West German-manufactured P226s produced before the reunification of Germany remain the most sought-after iterations due to their forged carbon steel slides, hand-fitted craftsmanship, and superior balance.
Proofed in 1988 (date code "JJ") at the German proof house in Kiel, this P226 is chambered in 9mm Luger. Crucially for serious collectors, this example features triple matching serial numbers ("U192717") stamped across the frame, slide, and barrel. Features include the classic folded-carbon steel slide w/ pinned breech block, lightweight anodized aluminum frame, non-railed dust cover, fixed contrast sights, smooth DA/SA action with decocking lever, and original pebble-grain synthetic grip panels.
