The P229 was the first pistol to be manufactured in Exeter, New Hampshire. Available in 9mm, .40S&W, and .357 SIG, the P229 Nitron is one of the most popular SIG SAUER pistols and is carried by thousands of law enforcement professionals throughout the country. The compact size of the P229 makes it ideal for concealed carry. This limited-production pistol, of only 1000, features Siglite night sights with an American flag engraved just before the rear sight. The right of the slide is also equipped with a serial number barcode above the engraved "Homeland Security 1 of 1000". Also features a double-action-only system with a bobbed hammer. Homeland Security Pistols™ (HSP™) are the same models we build for the Department of Homeland Security. When the government needed new pistols to protect America, they turned to SIG SAUER for the SIG SAUER P229. Now, a limited production run of 1,000 P229 HSP™ pistols is available, engraved with the American flag and “Homeland Security 1 of 1000”. Additionally, each is engraved with serial number barcoding just like the pistols we ship to DHS and the U.S. Coast Guard. Each HSP™ pistol also features the new DAK trigger, a stainless steel Nitron slide topped with SIGLITE night sights, and a lightweight alloy frame with integral Picatinny rail.
