The Smith & Wesson Model 17, also known as the K-22 Masterpiece, is one of Smith & Wesson’s most respected classic rimfire revolvers and was designed as a premium .22 LR target revolver built on the company’s K-frame. Sharing the same general frame size and handling characteristics as many of Smith & Wesson’s centerfire service revolvers, the Model 17 offered shooters an accurate, low-recoil, and economical platform for target practice, small-game use, and serious revolver training. Chambered in .22 Long Rifle, it commonly features a blued finish, adjustable target sights, traditional double-action/single-action operation, an exposed hammer, and the refined balance and trigger quality associated with vintage Smith & Wesson production.
