The Smith & Wesson .22/32 Hand Ejector, also known as the .22/32 Bekeart Model or .22/32 Heavy Frame Target, is a double-action revolver chambered in .22 Long Rifle and built on the round-butt .32 Hand Ejector I-frame with five-screw construction. Introduced in 1911 following a special manufacturing contract requested by San Francisco firearms dealer Philip Bekeart, the revolver was designed as a heavy-frame rimfire platform intended for precise target shooting. It features a six-shot fluted cylinder with a nominal length of 1.25" and was offered in a blue finish. The Bekeart Model introduced an early adjustable target sight configuration featuring a rear-sight elevation screw that threaded directly into the frame, paired with a thin-blade front sight—either 1/10-inch or 1/8-inch in width—with a bead top pinned in a raised boss for improved target accuracy. Additional features include a knurled round-end extractor rod, a .240" checked flat-faced hammer with a floating firing pin, and a .240" smooth trigger. The revolver also displays a small Smith & Wesson trademark on the left side of the frame below the thumbpiece and is fitted with checkered walnut extension-type grips.

Serial numbers fall within the .32 Hand Ejector series—viewable on the forestrap without grip removal—with roughly 1,044 examples produced in the first Bekeart-pattern run (serial range 138226 to 139275), including the highly desirable first shipment of 294 guns delivered to Bekeart in 1911. In 1915, around serial number 160000, the revolver was officially added to Smith & Wesson’s regular catalog as the .22/32 Heavy Frame Target model, with production continuing until circa 1941.
