Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
This revolver is chambered in .357 Magnum and built on the round-butt J Magnum "Airlite Sc" frame, constructed from a lightweight aluminum/scandium alloy. It features a fluted five-shot titanium cylinder with a nominal length of 1.59 inches. To mitigate flame cutting from high-pressure .357 Magnum rounds, a small stainless steel flame shield is positioned above the cylinder-barrel gap. The frame is laser-marked with “Airlite Sc” and bears the scandium element symbol, complete with its 21 electrons, on the sideplate. The revolver has fixed sights, including a 1/8-inch pinned black serrated ramp front sight and a square notch rear sight, offering a simple yet effective sight picture. The matte stainless finish contrasts with the grey titanium cylinder, giving the gun a sleek, modern appearance. Additional features include a 0.312-inch smooth target trigger and a 0.240-inch semi-target hammer. The barrel is a two-piece design measuring 1-7/8 inches, and the revolver is fitted with a Hogue Bantam Monogrip for improved control and comfort. The scandium alloy frame, along with the titanium cylinder, barrel shroud, and yoke, makes this revolver exceptionally lightweight and durable. Initially announced at the 2001 SHOT Show in Las Vegas without an internal key lock, the model was not officially released until July of that year, with the internal lock incorporated into the production version.
