The Smith & Wesson .38/200 British Service Revolver (Model K-200) is a definitive wartime double-action sidearm, manufactured between 1940 and 1945 to supply British and Commonwealth forces through the Lend-Lease Act. Mechanically identical to the .38 Hand Ejector Model 1905 (4th Change) and sharing its five-screw, square-butt K-frame foundation with the domestic U.S. Victory Model, this variant is uniquely distinguished by its chambering in .38 S&W caliber tailored for a heavy 200-grain bullet. Production initially began around serial number 680,000 as a continuation of S&W's pre-war commercial series, featuring a 6-shot fluted cylinder with a 1.56-inch nominal length, a 1/10-inch round blade front sight, and options for 4-inch, 5-inch, or 6-inch pinned barrels, though the 5-inch length became the military standard.
