The Smith & Wesson Model 629-6 is one of the most iconic modern magnum revolvers, combining the legendary power of the .44 Magnum cartridge with Smith & Wesson’s extremely durable N-frame stainless steel platform. The 629 is the stainless-steel version of the famous Smith & Wesson Model 29, the revolver made world-famous by Dirty Harry and its “most powerful handgun” reputation. The “-6” designation represents a later engineering revision of the 629 series, introduced around 2001, which added changes including the internal lock system and other production updates. Unlike older classic Smith & Wesson revolvers, the 629-6 uses modern manufacturing improvements while keeping the same basic design that made the Model 29 famous.
