The Smith & Wesson M&P 380 Shield EZ M2.0 TS “Thumb Safety” is an internal-hammer-fired, semi-automatic polymer pistol chambered in .380 ACP, representing a purpose-built evolution of the Shield EZ platform with a strong emphasis on ease of operation, controllability, and practical defensive performance. Engineered as part of the M&P M2.0 family, this model is designed specifically for personal protection and everyday carry, featuring an easy-to-rack slide, an easy-to-load magazine system, and an easy-to-clean design, making it exceptionally accessible to a wide range of shooters, including first-time handgun owners and experienced users alike. The pistol has an overall thin, lightweight profile optimized for all-day carry, while maintaining a balanced 18-degree grip angle that promotes a natural point of aim and consistent handling. Central to its shootability is a crisp, light trigger with a distinct tactile and audible reset, designed to support fast, controlled follow-up shots under defensive conditions. The Shield EZ design incorporates an enhanced grip safety that gives it a proper firing grip. A tactile-loaded chamber indicator (TLCI) allows the shooter to verify chamber status both visually and by touch. The sights consist of a red fiber-optic front sight paired with a green fiber-optic rear sight, providing rapid and intuitive target acquisition across a variety of lighting environments. The pistol also includes grip texture optimized for control and recoil management, further enhancing stability during firing. 
 
The pistol feeds from two included easy-to-load 8-round magazines (8+1 capacity) and is equipped with a reversible magazine release and an ambidextrous manual thumb safety. A Picatinny-style accessory rail allows mounting of lights or lasers, expanding its utility for both defensive carry and home protection use.
