Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
First introduced in 2003, the Smith & Wesson Model 500 holds the distinction of being engineered around the massive Extra-Large "X-Frame" architecture specifically to chamber the world's most powerful production handgun cartridge—the .500 S&W Magnum. Capable of generating over 2,600 foot-pounds of muzzle energy, the 5-shot Model 500 was built from solid stainless steel to deliver unprecedented stopping power for big-game handgun hunting and dangerous-game wilderness defense. Featuring a ball-detent frame-to-yoke lockup system, heavy-gauge cylinder walls, integrated target sights, and a recoil-mitigating muzzle compensator, the S&W Model 500 remains the unquestioned king of massive-bore production revolvers.
This specific example is an authentic Smith & Wesson Model 500 revolver chambered in .500 S&W Magnum, bearing serial number BCE4756. Outfitted in iconic long-barrel configuration, it features a 9-inch overall length including the factory ported muzzle brake compensator, brushed satin stainless steel metal surfaces, 5-shot un-fluted style heavy cylinder, black Hogue rubberized finger-groove Monogrip, micro-adjustable target rear sight, and smooth DA/SA action. The satin stainless finish presents in pristine condition throughout, displaying crisp laser roll-marks and clean steel surfaces. Mechanically, cylinder lockup is rock-solid, the double-action pull is smooth, the single-action break is hair-trigger sharp, and the barrel bore is mirror-bright with razor-sharp rifling. Complete in its original factory serialized blue hardshell case, this S&W Model 500 offers an impressive large-bore hunting piece.
