Designed to offer military, law enforcement, and civilian shooters maximum durability and corrosion resistance without compromising ergonomic precision, the Model 639 retained the comfortable single-stack frame geometry of its predecessor while upgrading key internal components and finish specifications. Mechanical features include a robust traditional double-action/single-action (DA/SA) operation, slide-mounted ambidextrous safety/decocker lever, and a heavy-duty frame constructed entirely of stainless steel. This specific example is an authentic 2nd Generation S&W Model 639 bearing matching serial number A838499. Chambered in 9mm Parabellum, it features a 4-inch barrel, satin stainless steel finish, protective-ear adjustable target rear sight, crisp factory roll marks, and gorgeous checkered wood grips featuring original brass S&W medallions. The stainless finish exhibits pristine condition throughout with minimal signs of handling or storage. Mechanically, the slide cycles smoothly, lockup remains tight, and the 4-inch bore displays bright, sharp rifling.
