Bryant Ridge Co. is pleased to present this ULTRA RARE double-action revolver today for a penny-start auction; this is the Smith & Wesson M1908 First Model Triple Lock “Target Model” with DUAL CYLINDERS!
This unique early Smith & Wesson M1908 First Model Hand Ejector “Triple Lock” Target revolver, serial number 924, is an exceptionally rare three-digit example featuring a dual-cylinder configuration in .44-40 and .44 Special with a 6½-inch barrel, blue and casehardened finish, and walnut checkered grips. Manufactured between 1908 and 1915, with only an estimated 50 “Target” models produced, this revolver is believed to be the only known example in this configuration. It retains all desirable early features, including the Triple Lock mechanism, five-screw frame, square butt, pre-target components, and matching serial numbers throughout, along with its original and spare cylinders. Finished in superb pre-war high polish blue with factory casehardened hammer and trigger, this example remains in excellent condition with approximately 95% original finish, making it a highly significant and possibly one-of-a-kind collector piece.
This example is also featured by Serial Number on Page 186 of “Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson!"
THIS IS TRUELY A ONE OF A KIND EXAMPLE AND A MUST HAVE FOR ANY COLLECTOR!

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The early Smith & Wesson M1908 Triple Lock Revolver represents one of the finest and most overbuilt revolver designs of the pre-war era, renowned for its strength, precision, and innovative “Triple Lock” mechanism, which added a third locking point to secure the cylinder under recoil. Produced from 1908 to 1915, these revolvers were manufactured to an exceptionally high standard, featuring superb pre-war polish and craftsmanship that defined Smith & Wesson’s golden age. Within this already desirable model line, true factory “Target” configurations are exceedingly scarce, with estimates suggesting that only a very small number—often cited around 50 examples—were ever produced, making them highly coveted among advanced collectors. This particular example elevates that rarity to an entirely different level. Featuring a documented factory dual-cylinder configuration in both .44-40 and .44 Special, it represents an unusual and highly specialized setup that is virtually unheard of within the Triple Lock family. While dual-cylinder revolvers are occasionally encountered in later production or custom configurations, factory-documented examples from this early period are extraordinarily rare. Based on the information available, this revolver is widely believed to be the only known example produced in this exact configuration, placing it in a category of true one-of-a-kind firearms. From a collector’s standpoint, this revolver embodies the pinnacle of rarity, condition, and historical significance. Its early three-digit serial number, retained matching components, and high percentage of original finish further reinforce its desirability, but it is the combination of being a rare “Target” model and a likely unique factory dual-cylinder example that sets it apart. Pieces of this nature transcend standard collecting—they represent cornerstone acquisitions, seldom encountered and highly unlikely to be duplicated, offering a rare opportunity to own what may be one of the most singular examples within the entire Smith & Wesson Triple Lock lineage.
