Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Femaru 37M is a semi-automatic pistol designed by Rudolf Frommer and manufactured in Hungary. It was an improvement over the earlier Frommer 29M. The pistol was produced in two chamberings. The Hungarian Army used the .380 ACP (9x17mmSR) chambered version, while the .32 ACP (7.65x17mmSR) version was supplied to Hungary's German allies during World War II. The .380 ACP version was known as the M1937 in Hungarian service. The .32 ACP version was known as Pistole 37(u), pistole M 37 Kal. 7,65 mm or P37 in German service.

The main difference between the German version and the other variants is that it had a manual safety, which the Hungarian issue did not have. The German version was marked "Pistole M 37 Kal. 7.65" and the "jhv" code and date, along with the Waffenamt markings. Despite being produced under strain due to the desired production rate, it was still a reliable pistol. Around 150,000 to 300,000 pistols were completed this way. Some partially finished post-war models were also issued. There was an attempt to produce the gun after the war but without success.
