Item Description

Bryant Ridge Auction Company is pleased to present this legendary Snake Series double action revolver today for a penny start auction, this is the Colt Python!

According to the Colt Serial number Database, this example is a 1998 manufactured year Python model with the 6" Barrel, .357mag/.38spl Caliber, and Nickel Finish. We know that the serial number range "75179" combined with the fact that the Original Nickel Finish Option puts this example's manufacture date as 1968. "colt had long since discontinued the Nickel Finish by 1998"

When these particular Serial Number discrepancies happen on the Colt.com Serial Lookup, it almost 100% of the time signifies that the firearm SHIPPED from colt in 1998 "not manufactured". You can also determine this by Colt.com's serial number lookup results in not only giving the 1998 year and model BUT ALSO providing the Caliber, barrel length, and type of finish.

In 1998 Colt sent many of their factory archives guns to auction and all of these examples "that we know of" will derive on the Colt Serial Number lookup "on Colt.com" as being manufactured in the year 1998 with all the extra specs being given.
