The Ruger Speed Six is a double action revolver that was introduced in 1972 and manufactured until 1988. It was chambered for .357 Magnum and .38 special. The Speed Six is a classic six round handgun used by law enforcement, military, and civilians alike. Renowned for its simple design and reliability, the speed six offers a rock steady sidearm for self defense or target shooting. It featured a full size walnut hand grip with Ruger medallions with a blue, stainless steel finish and a 2.75" barrel. The speed six is also mounted with a square notched grooved receiver and black serrated ramp front sight.

The Speed Six is a revolver which is quite well constructed. It was designed with a well balanced features that makes this revolver very reliable. The Speed Six belongs to the Ruger double action revolver family such as the Service Six or Security Six. This revolver features an exposed hammer that is facilitating single-action operation. Result of the development of the firearm designers is the revolver which is popular among plenty of shooters.  

The factory letter that this example will ship with indicates that this example was produced in September 1974 in the Newport, New Hampshire facility. The revolver was designated as the model SS-82 and is chambered in .38 special. It was shipped to Gopher Shooters Supply Company in Faribault, MN in September 1974.
