According to our research, the Stevens Model 89 was ONLY produced in the year 1976, making these guns very hard to find! They were made almost identical to the Ithaca Model 49 single-shot and marketed as a "boy's gun".

"Classic Western Styling", the best way to describe the Stevens Model 89.
The Stevens Model 89 single-shot combines the romance and styling of the American West with the modern requirements of a lever action rimfire rifle. The Model 89 features a low visible hammer, straight grip western styling stock, breech block that is grooved for easy handling, a step elevator rear sight, carbine style forend and front sight integral with the barrel band. Besides those features, the 89 has a precision rifled tapered steel barrel, western style action, automatic ejection and inertia type firing pin. The receiver/frame is a zinc alloy coated with an epoxy type paint, while the barrel is a blued steel. The gun also has a phony magazine tube to make it look like a repeater. The Model 89 was almost identical to the Ithaca Model 49 single-shot. This single shot is a safe and dependable idea for the beginning shooter, as well as the experienced rifleman.
