The .40 S&W is a full-size handgun that features an aluminum alloy frame with a stainless steel slide. It has a Traditional Double-action with a satin stainless finish, and a 10-round magazine. The barrel measures 4" in length and has a 260" spurred hammer with a 305" combat trigger. The front sight is a white dot, while the Novak Lo-mount carry 2 dot rear sight is equipped with black hardware on the frame and slide.

Additionally, the 4003TSW has a black equipment rail that is mounted under the forward part of the frame for accessories. Each TSW has the frame and slide machined as a matched set with an assembly number on each half. The barrel has a loaded chamber indicator in the barrel hood visible as a small window or hole in which to view the rim of the cartridge. To ensure a better grip, each front strap is now checkered, and the barrel bushing is fixed. The frame and slide are fitted with oversize frame rails, and the gun weighs 28.5 ounces. The 4003TSW was produced from 2000-2003.
