Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Ruger AR-556 is a standard direct-impingement, AR-15-pattern rifle engineered for balance, reliability, and adaptability. It features a milled gas block positioned at the carbine-length (M4) location, contributing to improved handling characteristics, and is equipped with multiple attachment points, including an integral QD sling socket and a bayonet lug for added versatility. The rifle comes fitted with a Ruger Rapid Deploy folding rear sight that adjusts for windage, paired with an elevation-adjustable A2-style, F-height front sight. This sight arrangement allows for co-witnessing with many optics and can be instantly redeployed when needed without tools. Ergonomics are addressed through the use of a six-position, telescoping M4-style buttstock mounted on a Mil-Spec buffer tube, allowing shooters to tailor the length of pull for proper fit across different body sizes and when wearing outerwear or defensive gear. The flat-top upper receiver is forged from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum and finished with a Type III hard-coat anodizing. It incorporates a forward assist, dust cover, and brass deflector, all of which contribute to durability and consistent, reliable operation in varied conditions. At the core of the rifle is a medium-contour, cold hammer-forged barrel with ultra-precise rifling, delivering excellent accuracy, long service life, and ease of cleaning.

A 1:8" twist rate stabilizes bullets ranging from 35 to 77 grains, while the 5.56 NATO chamber safely supports both 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington ammunition. M4 feed ramps enhance feeding reliability, and the matte black oxide finish reduces glare while providing resistance to corrosion. The 1/2"-28 threaded muzzle is fitted with a Ruger flash suppressor and accepts standard muzzle devices, allowing easy customization. Additional features include a durable single-stage trigger with an enlarged trigger guard for use with gloves, an ergonomic pistol grip with extended trigger reach, and heat-resistant glass-filled nylon handguards secured by a user-serviceable barrel nut and delta ring. Internally, the rifle utilizes a shot-peened and proof-tested bolt, a chrome-lined bolt carrier, and a staked gas key for longevity.
