The CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow traces its roots back to the original CZ 75, introduced in 1975 as one of the most respected “wonder nine” pistols of its era. Built in the Czech Republic, the CZ 75 gained a reputation for its robust all-steel construction, excellent ergonomics, and superb accuracy. In 2005, CZ unveiled the SP-01 as a modernized full-size variant with updated features such as an extended beavertail, accessory rail, and improved grip texturing. The SP-01 Shadow emerged shortly after, developed in collaboration with top competitive shooters to meet the demands of the IPSC Production Division. It eliminated the firing-pin block for a smoother trigger pull, added a fiber-optic front sight paired with a competition-style rear sight, and refined its ergonomics for faster, more intuitive handling. In terms of performance, the SP-01 Shadow offers exceptional balance and control thanks to its all-steel frame and full-length dust cover, which help reduce muzzle rise and felt recoil.
